Vietnamese Ambassador in Switzerland, Pham Hai Bang has presented certificate of merit to the Switzerland-Vietnam Friendship Association, noted the positive contribution of the association in the consolidation and strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Chairwoman of the association Anjuska Weil received the honour for her agency and herself.

Another recognized for her distinction was Ngoc Dung Moser, Secretary General of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Switzerland. She is renowned for her commitment to teaching the Vietnamese language and charitable work.

Chairwoman Weil was the recipient of an award from Vietnam’s national committee on external information service for her articles on Vietnam’s 70th National Day and 40th National Reunification Day. Her articles were published by the friendship association and several Swiss left-wing newspapers.

Ms. Weil took part in a campaign protesting against war in Vietnam in the 1960s. As a member and later Chairwoman of the Switzerland-Vietnam Friendship Association, she has been working to support needy Vietnamese, particularly dioxin victims, and to promote Vietnamese language among Vietnamese expatriates in Switzerland. She was also involved in placing news booths providing facts about the East Sea issue in Vietnamese areas.

Both women rarely talk about their own activities for the community. They often refer to the efforts of their colleagues at the Switzerland-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Switzerland, whom silently contributes to the development of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
