VFF Presidium gives feedback to draft documents submitted to Party Congress
On October 3rd-4th, the 6th session of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Presidium (term VIII) took place with a focus on discussing and contributing ideas to the draft documents to be submitted to the 12th National Party Congress.
During the session, a majority of ideas showed their attention to Party building. They said that the draft documents should clarify the contents of Party building, stressing the essential work in the next 5 years. In addition, the draft documents should concentrate on what had been done and what had not by the Party, thus promoting the ethos of criticism and self-criticism, especially that of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Some other said the 12th National Party Congress needed to focus on building a pure and strong Party, adding that it was biggest challenge for Party leadership.
The draft documents to be submitted to the 12th National Party Congress frankly pointed out 4 existing risks. Some ideas said that one of the reasons for the risks was that the political system had undergone slow renewal. Thirty years after the renewal, despite strong socio-economic development, the renewal about the political system did not match the renewal in terms of economics. Therefore, the Congress needed to clarify what could be renewed and what were in need of further research, according to some ideas.
Many others suggested that the draft documents should grasp thoroughly President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts on great national unity by promoting the mastery right of the people and reinforcing the strict links between the Party, State and people.
Regarding the areas of education, training, science and technology, some ideas said that the draft documents worked out clearly the weaknesses in development. However, the management and organization in carrying out tasks for the development of the areas were of prime importance. In addition, the draft documents only paid attention to political and economic international integration but not to that in education, training, science and technology.
Some others stressed that in the new tenure, the Party should increase its leadership in the renewal in ethnic minority work, especially the implementation of ethnic minority policies.
Speaking during the session, VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the VFF would continue to organise seminars to discuss and contribute ideas to the draft documents in terms of economic development, applications of science and technology, cultural promotion in competitive and international integration, fostering of young generation’s dreams and wills, promotion of democracy and prevention of corruption./.
