PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that Vietnam’s business climate is definitely fertile enough to incubate leading businesses in Asia, at the Vietnam-Netherlands Business Forum in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The event attracted the participation of Deputy PM and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment of the Netherlands, Lodewijck Asscher; Chairman of the Royal Association of MKB-Nederland, Michael van Straalen; President of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vu Tien Loc; leaders of Vietnamese ministries and sectors; and representatives from over 450 Dutch and Vietnamese enterprises.

During the forum, PM Phuc witnessed the exchange of 11 cooperation documents totally worth US$700 million between the two countries’ businesses. Later the same day, the Vietnamese government leader attended a business roundtable focusing on issues related to smart cities and airport cities.

Dutch representatives introduced the operation of smart cities in the Netherlands as well as relevant challenges and outlook. The Vietnamese side also presented the outlook of building smart cities in Vietnam, whilst calling on the Dutch government and companies to actively support Vietnam in the field. Vietnam is seriously researching the application and development of smart cities, PM Phuc said, asking Dutch partners to share experience in the issue.

Concerning airport cities, the PM noted that models of environmentally friendly airport cities are of great interest in Vietnam. The Vietnamese government has directed functional agencies to research this model, he said, adding that the country hopes to receive the Netherlands’ support in the work./.
