Vietnam has been listed among the Top 20 favourite countries to visit by the US’s Condé Nast Traveler (CNT).

The annual award is based on readers' votes on what countries have the best food, and feature the best places to stay and best destinations to visit.

Ranked at 20th, Vietnam dropped eight grades from the last year’s list, while the most-favored country in 2016 is Greece.

According to the magazine, Italy had been voted as the number-one country to visit in the world for five years in row but in 2016, the boot-shaped country fell to second place.

Southeast Asia saw two other representatives appearing on CNT’s list, including Thailand at 9th place and Indonesia at 17th place.

Other rankings on the list are the US, South Africa, France, Spain, India, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Canada, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Ireland and Japan./.
