He also thanked Cambodian leaders and people for supporting Vietnam during the past struggle for independence and current national renovation, construction and defence.

The Cambodian leaders lauded the fruitful results of the talks between the two Party delegations, as well as the effective partnership between the legislative bodies, Governments and ministries and localities of both countries.

They spoke highly of the efficient investment of Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia over the past years.

The leaders expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese people for the precious and timely support and assistance that they have given to Cambodia during the country’s struggle for liberation that saved Cambodian from genocide and revived the nation, as well as in current national conciliation and development.

They affirmed that the close neighbourliness, traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries is further growing, becoming a priceless treasure which should be preserved and passed on to next generations.

The two sides agreed to direct ministries and localities to implement joint declarations, agreements and treaties signed between the two countries in a strict and effective manner.

They will continue strengthening communication campaigns to help the public, particularly young people, understand better about the Vietnam-Cambodia traditional ties, while speeding up demarcation along the shared land border to build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

The two sides also agreed to create favourable conditions for each other’s citizens and give equal treatment to them as to other foreign nationals.

They pledged to increase mutual support in international and regional matters and promote the settlement of disputes through peaceful measures in conformity with international law and regional commitments.

The two sides agreed they will collaborate closely in preparing for the 14th meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic, Cultural, Education and Science-Technology Cooperation.

Also on June 9th, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Vietnam Bank for Investment and Development in Cambodia (BIDC) and had a working session with representatives from the Association of Vietnamese Investor in Cambodia.

They left Phnom Penh for Siem Reap province the same day./.
