A friendship exchange was held in Hanoi on February 6th with the participation of students from the Hanoi-based Foreign Language Specialised School (FLSS) and Student Journalism Association in Guilin City, Guangxi Province of China.

(VNF) - A friendship exchange was held in Hanoi on February 6th with the participation of students from the Hanoi-based Foreign Language Specialised School (FLSS) and Student Journalism Association in Guilin City, Guangxi Province of China.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association (VCFA), Nguyen Vinh Quang, welcomed the delegation, adding that mostly Vietnamese here had studied in China in the 1960s and 1970s. This was a very meaningful activity to help Chinese youths understand more about friendship between the two countries.

He then briefed the delegates on VCFA's activities in people-to-people diplomacy as well as many practical activities such as the 'red' tourism route following the past journey of President Ho Chi Minh in Guangxi in 2015 and participation in the Vietnam-China People's Forum.

Quang said that communication plays an important role in the development of the two countries 'relations and helps propagate the friendship between the two nations, thereby effectively realising the two leaders' common awareness. He also expressed confidence in the development of China-Vietnam relations to the Vietnamese and Chinese youths, the future owners of their respective nations.

For his part, President of Guilin’s Student Journalism Association, Qin Shou Chau, expressed his delight at receiving the warm welcome from Vietnam.

He also took the occasion to brief his host on the history and development of the Guilin’s Student Journalism Association. Accordingly, the association was founded in 2003 and has over 10,000 members. Through extensive activities such as gathering news, writing articles, interviews, the association helps children to develop their independence and communication, social functioning abilities.

He hopes that through this exchange program, Chinese students will have the opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese culture, contributing to promoting the bilateral friendship for each country’s interests and peace, stability and prosperity in the region and around the world.

At the meeting, the students were listened to memorable stories of former Vietnamese students studying at China and the relatives of the two generals Nguyen Son and Hong Thuy./.
