The Vietnamese Youth Association in Switzerland was established in the city of Lausanne on April 26th with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bern and the Mission of Vietnam to the UN and the Organization of Trade World Trade (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN and the Organization of Trade World Trade (WTO) Nguyen Trung Thanh welcomed the establishment of the Association, which would contribute to connecting Vietnamese youth in Switzerland towards the homeland.

This year also marks the 70th anniversary of National Day and the 40th anniversary of National Reunification Day, and will show people everywhere why the Vietnamese people are proud with the word “homeland” engraved in the hearts of every person.

Mr. Luong Vinh Toan, representative of the Vietnamese Youth Association Executive Committee in Switzerland, said over the past time, young people in Lausanne, Geneva and Zurich took part in a lot of practical activities such as caring for poor patients in Vietnam, organizing cultural festivals, contributing to solidarity and the participation of overseas Vietnamese. The establishment of the Vietnamese Youth Association would combine and promote the solidarity and spread activities of Vietnamese students across Switzerland.

The Vietnamese Youth Association gathers Vietnamese youth and students living, studying and working across Switzerland in order to better promote the capacity and intelligence of every person, creating conditions to study, cooperate and exchange information among members of the association, contributing to cultural development of the community in Switzerland as well as in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Youth Association Executive Committee organized a friendly football match on the same day./.
