Vu Thi Trang wins Russia's White Nights tour
(VNF) - Top Vietnamese female badminton player Vu Thi Trang gained an impressive victory over US rival Rong Schafer, in the final of the White Nights tour in Russia on July 5th with a double win 21-14.
(VNF) - Top Vietnamese female badminton player Vu Thi Trang gained an impressive victory over US rival Rong Schafer, in the final of the White Nights tour in Russia on July 5th with a double win 21-14.
In the men’s event, Nguyen Tien Minh (currently world No 35) failed to top the tour even after seeding 1st. He lost 16-21 and 12-21 to the host rival Vladimir Malkov (world No 51) in the final game.
By topping the tour, Vu Thi Trang pocketed a USD1,500 cash prize, while Nguyen Tien Minh received USD1,200 for his second spot.
The White Nights badminton tour is part of the International Challenge system of the Badminton Wolrd Federation (BWF) with the total USD15,000 prize in cash./.
