At the meeting, Mr. Don Tuan Phong thanked Mr. Luis Tsuboyama for his time in Viet Nam making a positive contribution to promote the relationship between the two countries. VUFO Vice President hoped that the latter would succeed in new jobs and, in any capacity, always remember Vietnam as well as the friendship between Vietnam and Peru. At the same time, Don Tuan Phong hoped that VUFO and the Embassy of Peru would continue to be the bridge for Vietnamese and Peruvian businesses in the future.

Mr. Luis Tsuboyama, Chargé d'Affaires of the Peruvian Embassy in Vietnam, thanked the VUFO Vice President for taking his time. Mr. Luis said that the relationship between Vietnam and Peru in the past year had been significantly improved, especially in the field of investment and people-to-people diplomacy. After returning to Peru, Mr Luis will continue to play an important role in promoting cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnam and Peru formally established diplomatic relations on November 14, 1994. The Peruvian Embassy was set up in Vietnam in 2013 while the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil was in charge of Peru.

Trade relations between the two countries increased significantly in 2014. For the first time two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Peru exceeded $ 200 million, namely $ 238 million in the first eight months of 2014. .

Currently, two big Vietnamese corporations (Viettel and PetroVietnam) are investing in Peru and also two major Peruvian companies (AJE and AquaExpedition) are doing business in Vietnam.
