(VNF) - Recently, five outstanding students from "Getting Ready for Work" programme, the hairdressing class run by Saigon Children's Charity (SCC) had the opportunity to contribute in a charity event in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province.

From July 21 to 23, the team gave haircut and styling, manicures, and pedicures for 24 elderly in Kien Giang Elderly Assistance Centre and almost 100 orphans at the Phat Quang Charity Centre. They also supported the needy through donating 15 boxes of instant noodles, 24 boxes of Salonpas patches, 24 bottles of medicated oil, four bottles of cooking oil, and two boxes of milk, as well as school supplies and toys.

The SCC's trainees, consisting of five youths, Can, Hau, Thao, An and Duyen, who used to be disadvantaged youths but later fortunately participated in SCC's "Getting ready to work" vocational programme. The course not only equip the students with relevant technical skills but also provide them with career orientation and consultation, to make sure they all have a clear career goal and will be able to give back to the community.

Seeing the maturity and professionism of the five young hairdressers is a huge source of inspiration for the disadvantaged children in Phat Quang Centre./.
