| Welcoming the delegation, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong stated that the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians was a success with many important discussions and contents, including the adoption of a statement. This shows "the role of culture as a driving force for sustainable development" and the need to "promote respect for cultural diversity given the 4th Industrial Revolution". | Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh's Party Committee, Dang Xuan Phuong, introduced to the delegates the nature, culture, and people of Quang Ninh. He talked about the province's 60 years of construction and development, from a poor locality, it has risen and made a strong breakthrough, becoming a modern province with strong service and industry, an international tourism center, and a comprehensive growth center of the Northern region. In recent years, the province has invested in facilities and improved the quality of services to best serve tourists. In the first 5 months of this year, Quang Ninh welcomed about 7.1 million tourists, 1.7 times higher than the same period in 2022. Total tourism revenue reached VND 13,140 billion, an increase of 1.83 times year-on-year. Dang Xuan Phuong informed the delegates: On September 16, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee recognized Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Archipelago as a World Natural Heritage Site. Ha Long Bay was honored twice in 1994 and 2004. This year, Cat Ba archipelago was added to the site. The Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago contains vegetation-covered limestone islands and limestone peaks rising above the sea surface along with karst features such as domes and caves, spectacular, untouched scenery of vegetation-covered islands, saltwater lakes, sharp limestone peaks with steep cliffs rising above the sea. |
