Promoting Vietnamese-European knowledge and technology transfer education

The event is a part of VETEC project network development chain - under the Erasmus + Key Action 2 programme funded by the European Commission, aiming to form and develop the technology and knowledge transfer network between universities in Vietnam and Europe with agencies and businesses in Vietnam.

On September 11, the Vietnamese European Knowledge and Technology Transfer Education Consortium (VETEC) Final Networking event took place at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).

The event is co-organized by Free University of Brussels (VUB - Belgium), University of Aveiro (Portugal), Technical University of Dresden (Germany), along with Vietnam’s Universities of Hue and Can Tho. It was also the closing conference of VETEC project funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union (2016-2019).

The seminar features the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the European Delegation to Vietnam, representatives of three universities in Europe, various universities in Vietnam, and a number of researchers and enterprise.

Participants focused on discussions on a number of topics such as: government policy on knowledge and technology transfer; models of innovation and start-ups in Vietnam; the connection between enterprises and schools in transferring technology; Cultural changes and challenges in innovation at universities and businesses.

VETEC is an EU – funded project, coordinated by VUB and HUST from September 2016 to October 2019. During a course of 3 years, the project has set up training courses on technology and knowledge transfer for leaders at European partner schools, who will return to Vietnamese universities to train local civil servants with the support of European experts./.
