Strengthening Cooperation with Nice
During the visit, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang greeted Mr. Philippe Pradal, Deputy Mayor of Nice city and discussed the cooperation between Nice and provinces in Vietnam.

Mr. Philippe Pradal introduced the Ecovallee model that the city is implementing to sustainably redevelop the Var river delta with three parallel directions of economic development, territorial planning, and environmental protection.
He wishes to share with Can Tho, a sister city of Nice city since 2011, his experiences in combatting climate change and adapting to ecological transformation.
Deputy Mayor Philippe Pradal also highly appreciated the cooperation programs in the field of French language teaching, and teacher exchange in areas namely healthcare and commerce, and expressed his hope to keep promoting and expanding training programs in digitization.
In the medical cooperation, the Deputy Mayor introduced Nice's strengths in organic functional foods and wanted to seek opportunities to cooperate with Vietnam in the exploitation of medicinal herbs and the development of traditional medicine.
The representative of Nice city also expressed his wish that the two sides strengthen cooperation in the field of heritage, participate in the 12th Decentralized Cooperation Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi in December this year, and actively celebrate the establishment of relations between two countries in 2023.
During the meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nice city- Côtes d'Azur, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang presented the potential for business investment in Vietnam as well as the opportunities for Vietnam in France. In particular, the FPT Representative Office in France, located in Nice, is a project that attracts local attention and the cooperation of French businesses.
Talking with local leaders, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang welcomed the cooperation between Nice city and Can Tho city in the field of health and education, between Sofia Antipolis University and the University of Da Nang. At the same time, he encouraged Nice businesses and partners to strengthen cooperation, and learn information about cooperation in medical and health care, digitization and aquaculture in Vietnam.
Meeting the Vietnamese Community in Nice
Also on this occasion, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang had a meeting with representatives of overseas Vietnamese and students who are living, working and studying in Nice and surrounding areas.

Representatives of the community reported to the Ambassador about the living situation of overseas Vietnamese in the locality as well as mutual support to the community and activities towards the homeland.
Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang encouraged the work and study spirit of Vietnamese people and students, expressed the hope that the community will continue to preserve the tradition of caring for and supporting each other, maintain the teaching and learning Vietnamese language and cultural identity, promote and strengthen the cooperation and exchange between our community with the host country and with our homeland.
Preserving the Past, While Thinking of the Future
On the afternoon of May 2, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang, officers and staff of the Embassy visited an exhibition of King Ham Nghi's paintings being displayed at the Asian Art Museum of Nice.
Expressing satisfaction with the results of the working visit, Ambassador Thang said that the two sides had mentioned many areas of traditional cooperation with partner localities of Nice city such as Can Tho and Da Nang.
City leaders and businesses are interested in opportunities and prospects of cooperation with Vietnam, not only in trade and investment but also in the fields of culture, museums, tourism, and training.

In particular, cooperation in conservation and preparing heritage documents submitted to UNESCO is an area in which Nice has strengths and Vietnam is also interested. Ambassador Thang hopes that the exchanges and discussions with partners in Nice will continue to lay the foundation for cooperation between two sides in the future.
Deputy Mayor Philippe Pradal shared that the potential for cooperation between Nice and Vietnam is great because a large Vietnamese community is living and studying in the city. The community has so far created a bridge for the relationship between Nice and Vietnam.
In addition, the cooperation between the universities of Nice and Vietnam also contributes to enhancing the exchange of culture, technical science, and technology, helping the two sides to better understand and respect each other.
Mr. Olivier-Henri Sambuchi, Chairman of Nice's Promotion Board on World Heritage Registration, also recognized the great potential of cooperation between this city and Vietnam in heritage conservation and tourism development. He expressed his wishes to further cooperate with Vietnam in these fields.
Located on the Mediterranean coast, Nice is the 5th largest city in France, world-famous for resort tourism and event organization. Sofia Antipolis Hi-Tech Park includes universities, research and technology applications centers, which is the largest technology valley model in France.
With a tradition of 200 years and many monuments of cultural and historical value, Nice was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in July 2021./.
