VUFO Youth Union holds seventh Congress
(VNF) - The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations’ (VUFO) Ho Chi Minh Communist Central Youth Union conducted the seventh Congress, tenure 2017 – 2019 in Hanoi on April 21. The event brought together over 80 members of VUFO Youth union.
VUFO’s central party and youth union leaders attended and provide guideline for the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed, evaluated the outcomes of Youth Union’s operation in 2012-2017, followed by an action programme for the 2017 - 2019 tenure.
According to the assessment of VUFO leaders and VUFO Youth Union Executive Committee, during previous tenure, numerous activities were deployed effectively, especially the campaign Emulating the role model of Uncle Ho, which is highly suitable for the Youth Union’s vision and mission, and help improve working skills in external affairs.

In addition, the activities were persified and reformed, creating fareaching effects on the youth, thank to the advance of technology including website and social network.
At the same time, the building and consolidation of Youth Union as well as participation of the youth in Party building were reinforced.
Besides, the report also pointed out several challenges hindering the progress of Youth Union’s activities, including: increasing workload, frequent business trip, scattered based locations of VUFO's Youth Union's branches.
The new Executive Committee elected at the Congress
For tenure 2017 – 2019, VUFO Youth Union plans to attain these following goals:
- 100% branches effectively deploy all the activities initiated by the Youth Union.
- 80% branches have theme to discuss in every quarter seminar.
- 10% members attain the Competent Employee (department level)
- 100% complete the Youth Union's tasks satisfactorily
- 10-15 outstanding members to be induced to the Party
- 100% core officials received training on Youth Union works.
The Congress also elected 7 member Executive Committee for tenure 2017-2019 and 2 delegates to attend the National Congress later this year./.
