The program implemented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) in coordination with the Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk) was presented by Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission on Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai, Secretary of Bac Kan Party Committee Nguyen Van Du, and Deputy Minister of MNRE Vo Tuan Nhan.

At the event, Do Thanh Tuan, Vinamilk’s Public Relations Director, said the “One million green trees for Vietnam” program aims to plant more green trees across the country to improve the quality of the environment for Vietnamese citizens.

Over its six years, the program has overseen the planting of 680,000 trees, worth approximately VND 9 billion (USD 387,000), in nearly 20 provinces and cities nationwide as it works towards its target of planting 1 million trees in Vietnam, said Tuan.

Deputy Minister Vo Tuan Nhan said the program will help to protect the environment and encourage biopersity at a time when climate change is beginning to seriously affect the environment. He hoped that after successfully organising such meaningful activities, tree planting will be expanded throughout the community.

On the occasion of the 71st War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), Vinamilk presented 20 gifts to the families of martyrs, war invalids and former youth volunteers and revolutionary contributors in Bac Kan province./.
