The 2030 Businessmen Club under the Saigon Times Club last week organized its seventh 2030 Library Caravan to Buon Ho District in the Central Highlands province of Daklak to set up two new, well-equipped libraries and hand over gifts to poor school children.

Beneficiaries of the program were students at Dinh Nup Elementary and Secondary School in Ea Blang Commune and Le Loi Elementary School in Ea Sien Commune.

Apart from 550 gifts to students of the two schools, the organizers awarded 65 scholarships worth a total of VND80 million (about USD 3,585) to 40 students at five elementary schools in Buon Ho District.

Right at the event, the organizer also raised VND190 million (about USD 8,500) from members of the caravan trip to support poor residents in three communes, teachers of Le Loi and Dinh Nup schools and five orphans who were introduced by Buon Ho television station.

The annual 2030 Library Project of the 2030 Businessmen Club has been in place since 2010 with an aim to bring educational presents to school children in out-of-the-way and poverty-stricken areas.

This year’s program with its theme “Aspiration of the Central Highlands” attracted over 600 entrepreneurs and family members to take part in the trip with 135 cars. The caravan tour took place from August 5th to 7th.

In August 2015, the 2030 Businessmen Club donated a library, computers and teaching aids worth a total of VND450 million (USD 20,628) to three elementary schools in poor areas in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu during its annual caravan tour./.
