Agriculture, forestry and fishery export value hits over USD29 billion

Of this, volume of exported rice in the 11 months posted 4.54 million tons, valued at USD2 billion, down 25% in volume and 20.3% in value from a year earlier. However, average export rice price was USD450 per ton, up 5.6% compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, during the period, rubber export represented a 12.3% rise in volume at 1.1 million tons and a 4.6% increase in value at USD1.43 billion. This was due to a year-on-year reduction of 9.6% in the average export rubber price in the first ten months of the year.

Coffee export also witnessed a 36.1% rise in volume at 1.6 million tons and a 24.3% increase in value, at USD2.98 billion, compared to the same period last year.

Pepper export volume posted 170,000 tons, worth USD1.37 billion, up 36.7% in volume and up 15.1% in value from a year earlier. Average export pepper price in the ten months posted USD8.102 per tons, down 15%.

Both wooden and fishery products continued to be commodities with big export value of more than USD6 billion.

Exports of wood and wooden products in the 11 months posted USD6.2 billion, up 0.7% over a year earlier. The US, Japan and China were the three biggest import markets of Vietnam’s wood and wooden products in the first ten months of the year, accounting for 69% of the total.

The export value of fishery products reached USD6.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. The US, Japan, China and the Republic of Korea were the four biggest import markets of Vietnam’s fishery products, making up 54.1% of the total.

Import turnover of the whole agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in November amounted to USD2.1 billion, bringing the figure for the 11 months to USD22.15 billion, a year-on-year rise of 4.6%. In total, the sector’s trade balance leaned to exports at about USD6.95 billion./.
