Agriculture, forestry and fishery exports hit over USD10 billion

Over the past four months, exports of major agricultural products were valued at USD4.98 billion, up 13.5% over a year earlier; seafood export value reached USD1.97 billion, up 6.3%; and exports of main forestry products bagged USD2.25 billion, up 4.3%.

Specifically, rice exports amounted to USD916 million with 2.06 million tons, up 11.8% in volume and 13.8% in value against the same period last year. Coffee exports saw year-on-year rises of 44.6% in volume and 18.2% in value, at 9.68 million tons and USD1.16 billion, respectively. Tea export volume posted 32,000 tons, worth USD47 million, down 2.7% in volume and 12.2% in value.

For cashew exports, the US, China and the Netherlands were still the three biggest import markets of Vietnam, accounting for 29.25%, 18.46% and 12.49% of the country’s total cashew export value, respectively.

Exports of wood and wooden products in April were valued at USD633 million, bringing the total figure for the first four months to USD2.15 billion, up 4.3%./.
