According to Minister Luciana Santos, Vietnam has strong growth and great potential for cooperation in science and technology. She also expressed her impression of Vietnam's scientific and technological development achievements through a working visit to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in November 2023. Vietnam is an attractive destination for foreign businesses and companies in chip and semiconductor manufacturing and the potential for cooperation between the two countries is huge.

Santos said that science, technology and innovation are one of the foreign policy priorities of President Lula da Silva's administration and Brazil is making efforts to promote the implementation of signed agreements with Vietnam. In particular, a delegation of Brazilian experts is scheduled to come to work with the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology at the end of May.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi said Vietnam's science and technology wish to learn from Brazil's experience, especially in ethanol biotechnology, the agricultural processing industry, and mining. The two countries also share the same global concerns, he said, like combating climate change, sustainable energy, and space technology.

In the context of Vietnam launching a Regional Development Strategy and promoting tourism, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi highly appreciated Brazilian aviation technology, including narrow-body aircraft produced by Embraer, VNA reported.
