Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with foreign distribution groups in Vietnam to organize a series of activities to improve the capacity of Vietnamese export enterprises.

Businesses are supported by product and market development to trade connections to bring Vietnamese goods into foreign retail networks.

Since the implementation of Government's project of promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution networks by 2030, the awareness of Vietnamese enterprises about a new business model has deepened.

The enterprises have researched and grasped the tastes of the international market developed new products in line with consumption trends in the supply chains, and ensured the quality of products and services provided.

According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai, foreign distribution systems have worked closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and some localities.

Thereby, it not only contributes to promoting Vietnam's export turnover in the system of foreign retail groups but also towards a larger goal; building a system of enterprises supplying Vietnamese goods to meet strict requirements and standards, towards sustainable development.

In particular, the presence of large retail distributors such as WalMart, AEON, Central Retail, Lotte, Mega Market is a testament to the growing economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and its partners. The United States, Japan, Korea, and Thailand, as well as Vietnam's growing attractiveness as a retail market, are important sources of supply for the global supply chain.

Through the above activities, many Vietnamese products have not only found a stable position in supermarkets, trade centers, and convenience stores in the domestic market, but have also been successfully exported to many markets, where these businesses have their distribution systems.

The director of purchasing and exporting of Central Retail in Vietnam, Karim Noui affirmed that Central Retail's success is not only in business but also in its commitment to product quality to Vietnamese consumers.

Many programs to support the small and medium-sized business community have been implemented by Central Retail in recent years, such as: The annual Vietnamese Product Week in Thailand, or Agricultural Product Week held throughout Vietnamese localities.

Along with that, Central Retail also supports small and medium enterprises to develop competitive brands to penetrate into the retail distribution system. They support local farmers to develop sustainable livelihoods through agricultural purchasing programs, with 0% discount.

“In addition to supporting consumers in the domestic market, Central Retail also helps Vietnamese businesses find partners and promote Vietnamese goods through the corporation's retail system in Thailand and Italy. This is also the standard that the corporation sets when purchasing goods in Vietnam,” said Karim Noui.

However, for Vietnamese goods to have a strong foothold in international supermarkets, Vietnamese enterprises must implement synchronous solutions from production to distribution, and consumption and focus on quality assurance.

Fukui Tomoiaki, a senior manager from Japanese retailer AEON shared that the group's vision is to provide customers with safe products, and to build a complete supply chain from farm to fork.

MM Mega Market Group also affirmed that the company's system not only provides products for individual customers, but also partners with restaurants, canteens, hotels, and industrial kitchens. Therefore, ensuring the quality of goods is a solution for sustainable business development.

In order to raise the level of production and business cooperation between the parties, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai wished that representatives of retail groups would share and provide more information and specific requirements. This allows Vietnamese businesses to have a more comprehensive view, thereby making appropriate adjustments.
