The People’s Committee of the southern province of Ca Mau has issued a plan to train highly skilled human resources to the province, with a target to rapidly build up high quality human resources to satisfy the province’s socio-economic development.

Accordingly, in 2015, the province will give vocational training to 35,000 people, including 25,000 for the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors, and the rest for the industrial repairing, textile and garment, processing and service sectors.

In the 2006-2020 period, 170,000 others are expected to receive vocational training, with 70.6% of them to be trained for the agricultural, forestry and fisheries industries and 29.4% for the industrial repairing, textile and garment, processing and service areas.

The province will also expand the quality and quantity of vocational training, especially for highly skilled labourers in key industries such as electronics and information and technology, as well as other high quality services such as trade and tourism.

To obtain the targets, the provincial People’s Committee said it would develop additional vocational training foundations, including the Vietnam – the Republic of Korea vocational training colleges. Continued investment in and expansion of modern facilities and equipment is set a priority in realising the targets. In addition, the province will also focus on increasing the quality of teachers delivering vocational training and build up a more perse curriculum./.
