Central Highlands culture to be introduced in Hanoi

According to the Management Board of Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, activities under the theme “March - The honey hunting season of bees - Central Highlands” will take place in the village from March 25th to 27th.

Activities are expected to draw the participation of 135 performers from eight ethnic communities in seven provinces nationwide. They feature several ethnic rites, such as the communal house inauguration ceremony of the Gie Trieng group, prayers for rain and a bumper harvest of the Ede community, and the wedding ceremony of the Xo Dang group.

Especially, artist Y Wang living in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, often called “the storyteller of legendary nights”, will bring a night like this to Hanoi on March 25th. Y Wang has become famous for his performances of “ke khan” - a traditional art of the Ede ethnic group, where legends are told through folk songs.

In addition, 30 ethnic people from four groups, including Thai from the central province of Nghe An, Muong from the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh, Trieng from the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum and Ede from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, will organize daily life activities at the ethnic villages area, introducing folk knowledge, gastronomy, traditional handicrafts and musical instruments./.
