Country earns over USD13 billion from exports
Commodity export turnover in May 2015 reached an estimated USD13.5 billion, up 1% from the previous month, according to the latest statistics of the General Statistics Office.
In total, the figure amounted to more than USD63 billion in the first five months this year, a year-on-year rise of 7.3%.

The US continued to the biggest export market of Vietnamese commodities at USd12.7 billion, a 17.6% increase against the same period last year. It was followed by the EU at USD12 billion, up 8.6% year on year. Exports to ASEAN countries reached USD7.7 billion, down 3.5% while those to China were valued at USD6 billion, down 1.2%.
Foreign-invested economic areas (including crude oil) earned an export value of over USD44 billion, up over 12%. Meanwhile, export turnover in the domestic economic region reached nearly USD19 billion, down 2.7%.
Commodities with higher export value than the same period last year were telephones of all kinds and their components at USD12 billion (up 18.5%), telecommunication equipment at USD6 billion (up nearly 60%) and footwear at USD4.6 billion (up 19.5%)./.
