Da Nang city People’s Committee convenes second session

The second session of the Da Nang city People’s Committee opened on August 9^th to assess socio-economic development in the first half of this year and carry out tasks for the second.

Addressing the session, Nguyen Xuan Anh, Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Council, asked deputies to raise high their sense of responsibility and intellect to give high quality ideas and discussions to the city People’s Council resolutions.

“In particular, deputies should pay attention to working out big orientations of macro vision, as well as important and practical solutions for successfully realising socio-economic development tasks and ensuring defence and security in the final months of the year, creating an impetus for the development in 2017 and the years to come,” he added.

According to Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh, in the first half of the year, the city obtained over VND24.5 trillion in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), a year-on-year increase of 7.9%; reported nearly VND22.7 trillion in industrial production value, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%; reached over VND1.2 trillion in industrial and forestry production value, accounting for 59.7% of the year’s plan; and attracted nearly 2.5 million tourists, presenting a rise of 11.1% compared to the same period last year.

To ensure successful realization of the city’s People’s Council resolutions, 11 key solutions were presented by the city People’s Committee Vice Chairman, including continuing to restructure the economy, increase the management of basic construction, accelerate the construction of projects using State budget, enhance the quality of administrative reform, ensure defence and security, and restrict crime and social evils./.
