Da Nang city: VND5 billion to help AO victims

The Da Nang city People’s Committee on March 28^th held a program in which VND5 billion was raised from agencies, enterprises and inpiduals to assist Agent Orange victims in the city.

Nguyen Thi Hien, President of the Da Nang city Association of Victims of Agent Orange, said the money will be spent assisting the lives of over 5,000 AO victims at communities, and rearing 20 paralysed children in extremely disadvantaged circumstances at the city centre on detoxification and rehabilitation.

After 10 years of operation, the city Association of Victims of Agent Orange has raised assistance worth over VND55 billion to care for and give medical treatment to the victims, especially child victims.

Of the 5,000 victims in the city, some 1,400 are children./.
