Da Nang hosts training course on higher education leadership and university management
(VNF) - A training course on higher education leadership and university management for seventeen potential leaders of higher education institutions across Vietnam is being held in Da Nang city from October 19th to 30th.
The course is a distinct program initiated by the British Council in Vietnam with strong support from Tate & Lyle. It is aimed at developing capacity for higher education (HE) leaders, at vice dean or dean level or above, from Vietnamese higher education institutions.
In its third year, the leadership training course see the participation of six who have been awarded the Tate & Lyle - British Council full fellowship and eleven were offered partial fellowships. Ten applicants will receive full or partial financial support to complete one module in the UK at Aston University between November 30th and December 4th, 2015.
The course, which focuses on influential presenting, senior leadership training and shadowing in the UK, is delivered by Rebecca Hales, British Council trainer, Terry Hodgett, Director of the Centre for Executive Education, and Prof. Helen Griffiths, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Aston University.
The development of the program demonstrates the British Council’s commitment to supporting the national Higher Education Reform Agenda and the internationalization of higher education institutions in the nation.
Participants are expected to be equipped with essential skills to build sustained performance, understand, implement and contribute to their university’s strategy. They will also be trained to understand their roles as leaders - developing and contributing to university culture./.
