About the preparations for the event, Chairman of Da Nang city People’s Committee – Mr. Huynh Duc Tho said, Da Nang kicked off the preparatory work for APEC since the end of 2017.

A number of undergoing projects to serve for APEC 2017 include an upgrade to the Tuyen Son sport complex, where the APEC 2017 Gala will take place. The project cost USD 3.7 million and will be completed by the end of May, 2017.

The new terminal at Da Nang airport for international passengers is also one of the main infrastructure projects being built to prepare for APEC 2017. The terminal is scheduled to be in operation by the beginning of 2017 to receive advance delegates.

Another project, worth USD 7.87 million aims to convert the Exhibition and Convention Centre into a press centre serving the event, which is scheduled to be completed by July 2017.
