Disabled children and poor pupils in Quang Binh province receive support

Zhi Shan Foundation Taiwan (China) has given assistance worth nearly VND2.6 billion to disabled children and poor pupils and students with excellent academic results in the central province of Quang Binh the provincial People’s Committee said on May 12th.

Accordingly, from now until late 2015, the province will use the money to grant scholarships to poor and pupils and students who are high achievers; give free orthopedic surgeries to disadvantaged and disabled children; provide books and schooling equipment for schools; and build libraries for 8 local schools.

Although the assistance cannot satisfy the demand for all poor pupils and students, the provincial leaders expressed their hope that the assistance would create favourable conditions for them to develop comprehensively, thus striving in life./.
