Dozen of Vietnamese Educational Institutions Enter Times Higher Education Impact Rankings

Times Higher Education (THE) recently announced a ranking of influential higher education institutions in sustainable development in 2024, of which 13 Vietnamese universities made the list, an increase of 4 compared to last year.

In particular, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has the highest ranking among representatives from Vietnam, in the group 301-400. Educational institutions in group 401-600 are Duy Tan University, FPT University, National Economics University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Hanoi National University in the respective order.

On the other hand, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is still in the 601-800 ranking group, followed by Van Lang University at 801-1,000.

The top 1,001-1,500 schools are Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Phenikaa University. Vietnamese-German University is in the top 1,501+.

According to the announcement of Times Higher Education (THE), in 2024 there are 2,152 higher education institutions from 125 countries ranked in THE Impact Rankings. THE Impact Rankings include criteria such as Poverty eradication; Eliminate of hunger; Good health and life; Quality education; Gender equality; Economic growth and sustainable employment; Industry, innovation, and infrastructure development; Reduction of inequality; and Sustainable cities and communities. There are also the criteria of Responsible consumption and production; Climate protection; Water resources and environment; Resources and environment on land; Peace, justice and strong institutions; and Cooperation for development goals.

Previously, on June 5, 2024, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Organization announced the results of the world university rankings QS World University Rankings 2025 (QS WUR 2025). In particular, Hanoi National University (VNU) made a jump, joining the group of 851-900 best higher education institutions in the world according to the ranking criteria of QS WUR (compared to the previous ranking was group 951-1000).
