Statistics by the Ho Chi Minh City, Party Committee Commission on Popularization and Education show that after one month, nearly 3,500 meetings were organised across the city to collect over 31,700 ideas contributing to the draft political report to be submitted to the city’s 10^th Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term.

The information was released during a conference to review the work held on October 12^th by the City Party Committee.

According to the city Party Committee Commission on Popularization and Education, a majority of ideas focused on solutions to increase the city’s development and modernisation, saying that they hoped the city would utilize all its available resources to effectively achieve the set targets, contributing to the construction and protection of the socialist Vietnamese fatherland.

Press agencies at the central and city levels posted 209 articles introducing ideas from experts, scientists, city leaders and former leaders as well as representatives from city agencies and department, about their experience and strategic solutions to address remaining weaknesses and accomplish the set missions.

Chairing the conference, Vo Van Thuong, Party Central Committee member and Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, said that collecting people’s ideas to the draft political report was a political activity of great significance and quality. “The ideas show people’s deep attention to their issues, including life, production, as well as in the building of the Party and authority,” he said.

He stressed that the responsible ideas revealed a trust in the Party leadership in general and in the city Party Committee in particular. “It is also a trust in the national and the city development,” he went on to say./.
