Enterprises nationwide resume work after Tet

According to the management board of industrial parks and export processing zones in Can Tho, on February 21, approximately 60% of enterprises (mainly in the transport, fishery, rice, and garment sectors) resumed their operations following the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

This year, the number of passengers traveling by air, as well as the number of flights, increased dramatically. Particularly, Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City served an average of 44 flights per hour during the Tet festival.

There were almost 26,000 take-offs and landings, up by 20% from the Tet holiday in 2017, according to the Southern Air Authority.

Also on February 21, roughly 3,500 workers from Nam Dinh Textile Garment Joint Stock Corporation returned to work after the week-long Tet holiday.

In 2018, the Corporation is striving to reach a total revenue of VND1,600 billion. In 2017, the production value of the Corporation reached more than VND1,000 billion, with a total revenue of nearly 1,500 billion, exceeding the yearly target of 4%.

Also on the same day, Dien Bien Cement Corporation sold more than 1,000 tonnes of cement (of which over 600 tonnes were exported to the northern provinces of Laos).

The corporation is determined to complete the production and consumption of 350,000 tonnes of cement this year; ensuring a stable income for more than 400 staff and workers./.
