Addressing the signing ceremony, Assc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, VRC President, said the MoU held great significance as it was signed on World Water Day and at a time when severe drought and salt water intrusion are being reported in central, Central Highlands and Mekong River Delta regions of Vietnam.

“The humanitarian cooperation will help a large number of communities overcome difficulties in life,” she said.

In Vietnam, despite increasing efforts to have access to safe water, parts of the population are in danger of contracting diseases caused by unsafe water.

Providing safe water for children is among key social programs globally by P&G Group. Initiated in 2004, the program aims to bring safe water to people by using the P&G Water Purifier. Over the past years, P&G has cooperated with 150 partners across 75 countries to provide over 9 billion litres of safe water, saving thousands of lives. Meanwhile, P&G has committed to bring an additional 15 billion litres of safe water to people by 2020./.
