VNF - The Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Association on September 10 held a friendship meeting with the participation of nearly 600 attendees to celebrate the National Day of Vietnam (September 2) and the Hungarian National Day (August 20).

Attending the meeting were: Mr. Nguyen Dang Vang, Chairman of the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association; Mr. Őry Csaba, Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam; representatives of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Party Central Committee External Relations Department, Ministry of Education and Training and a large number of officials of the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam.

Chairman of the Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Association Nguyen Dang Vang congratulated the 72nd anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam and the 1017th anniversary of the Hungarian National Day.

Nguyen Dang Vang said that in recent years, the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries have been continuously expanded and developed strongly in many fields. Senior leaders of the two countries regularly visit each other. Most recently, there is a visit to Hungary by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the high-delegation of Vietnam at the invitation of Hungarian Parliament Speaker Kövér László (from April 8-11, 2017). In the coming time, there will be a visit to Vietnam by the Hungarian Prime Minister (scheduled for September 24-26, 2017).

The economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Hungary have also been strengthened. In the coming years, the two countries will organize many practical activities, contributing to deepening the good relationship between the two countries, towards a strategic partnership.

Nguyen Dang Vang believes, with the efforts of the Government and people of the two countries, the two Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Organization and the Hungary – Vietnam Friendship Association, the relations between Vietnam and Hungary will be more and more developed, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for the peace, stability and development of the region and the world.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Viet Nam Őry Csaba said the meeting was a solid basis for friendship between the two countries.

On relations between Vietnam and Hungary, the Ambassador said over the past years, cooperation and friendship between the two countries have been continuously strengthened and developed in all fields from economics, foreign affairs, education to culture. Especially, the Can Tho Cancer Hospital will kick off construction in the near future with a grant of EUR 440 million from Hungary. In addition, during the incoming visit of Hungary Prime Minister, the two sides will sign an agreement on cultural cooperation.

Ambassador Őry Csaba expressed his wish that, in the near future, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association will continue to cooperate with the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam to organize many practical activities, contributing to the development of good relations between Hungary and Vietnam.
