Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2019 opens for Vietnamese candidates
(VNF) - The U.S. Mission in Vietnam is seeking qualified candidates for the 2019-2020 Fulbright Vietnamese Visiting Scholar Program.
Established in 1946 and funded by the U.S. government, the Fulbright Program aims at achieving mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange.
The VSP provides grants for Vietnamese scholars to lecture and/or conduct research at American institutions or universities for five months (one-semester grant) or nine months (two-semesters grant).
The grants include stipend, living expenses, health and accident insurance for the full term of the grant, as well as transportation between Vietnam and the United States.
Scholars will be placed at appropriate host institutions in the United States by the Fulbright Program in Vietnam in coordination with the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
To be eligible to apply for the program, applicants must be a Vietnamese citizen with a Master or Doctorate Degree and must be proficient in English.
The applicants should be university faculty, foreign ministry and government officials, or professionals in the private sector, think tanks and other.
Applicants of various disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, science, and technology are welcome to apply.
The VSP actively encourages women, minorities, and residents from all provinces to apply. It is open to all candidates who qualify through open competition on the basis of academic and professional merit without regard to race, religion, gender or affiliation.
The deadline of application submission is 5:00 p.m., October 15, 2018 (Vietnam time zone).
