The Red River Delta province wants to encourage investors to set up modern agricultural practices that use state-of-the-art technologies and develop high-quality, competitive products.

Nguyễn Mạnh Hiển, secretary of the provincial Party Committee, said that businesses will get support in terms of credit, land rent, infrastructure development and administrative procedures.

At an agricultural investment promotion conference held in Hải Dương on Sunday, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyễn Xuân Cường suggested that the province pay attention to providing training and encouraging farmers to connect with others to form agricultural businesses.

Identifying strategic products and outlining transparent, favourable policies for investors will help the local agricultural sector to improve and progress to a new stage of development, Cường advised.

The province has around 11,700 enterprises, but of these, only 1,600 have invested in agriculture. The total investment in local agriculture is valued at around VNĐ15 trillion (US$658.5 million), most of it focused on farm produce processing, animal-based food products and production linkages./.
