Hai Phong Customs Department achieves highest budget collection value of over VND 60,000 billion

The total budget revenue of Hai Phong Customs Department reached VND 60,732 billion by the end of November 14, the highest in history, according to the Vietnam Times.

In the first 10 months of 2019, Hai Phong Customs Department achieves budget collection value of over 60,000 billion, the highest in history.

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, by the end of November 14, 2019, Hai Phong City Customs Department collected VND 60,817 billion.

Although there is still 1.5 months left until the end of 2019, Hai Phong Customs Department has achieved 127.98% the target set by the Ministry of Finance (VND 47,520 billion) and equal to 96.54% of the target assigned by the General Department Customs (VND 63,000 billion), up 32.02% over the same period in 2018 (VND 46,067 billion).

In order to attain and exceed the budget collection of VND 63,000 billion as assigned by the General Department of Customs, Hai Phong Customs Department has made remarkable efforts in the past time.

The impressive budget collection value gained by Hai Phong Customs Department is attributed to several high-tax imported goods, of which the highest value is automobile, gasoline and proactively promote the implementation of anti-revenue loss measures in many other key commodities.

Besides objective factors, the other important factors that contribute to the budget collection of Hai Phong Customs Department are administrative procedure reform and customs modernization that create favorable conditions for import and export. Thanks to these efforts, Hai Phong Customs Department is considered a pioneer in the customs sector.

With this achievement, Hai Phong Customs Department has contributed nearly 20% to the total revenue of the whole Customs sector.

Promote customs reform and modernization

In 2019, Hai Phong Customs Department has accelerated administrative reform, customs modernization, creating favorable conditions for import and export activities, arriving and departing passengers; providing relevant information and legal advice for businesses to improve the compliance with customs law enforcement and tax law; promptly solve problems under its authorization.

On the other hand, Hai Phong Customs Deparment also takes drastic measures in tax accounting and tax debt management, tax enforcement based on the characteristics and situation of each branch; actively urge and apply enforcement measures according to regulation; strengthening the coordination with relevant agencies (tax authorities, departments of planning and investment, police, etc.) to verify and implement enforcement measures, in order to improve the efficiency of management, monitoring and collection of debt.
