Hanoi student wins silver at Int’l Russian Language Olympiad
Vietnamese student Le Huynh Duc from Nguyen Hue High School for Gifted Student in Hanoi won a silver medal at the 15th International Russian Language Olympiad, according to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
The International Russian Language Olympiad, which was held on December 3-8 drew the participation of more than 2,500 candidates from 44 nations around the globe. After two qualifying rounds, 150 best candidates from 31 nations have been selected to enter the final.
Four members of the Vietnamese team come from Hanoi, Nghe An and Hoa Binh provinces and the High School at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
Winners of the Olympiad will be exempted from entrance exams to universities in Russia.
The International Russian Language Olympiad is held every four years since 1972 by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education and the Russian World Fund under the sponsorship of International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.
