International Alumni Network established in Ho Chi Minh City

For Myrna V. Pagán, witnessing and experiencing life in Vietnam firsthand has been a valuable experience. The Vietnamese people she met during her visit gave her a profound sense of hard work, resilience, and hope for the future.

On May 2, as part of his journey accompanying the sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni to Vietnam for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, Kiren Rijiju, India’s Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, met with the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The meeting underscored the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between the two nations, further strengthening their historical bonds through this momentous occasion.

On April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, met with an international delegation comprising individuals who had supported Vietnam during its resistance war for national independence and reunification. Organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the event marked the delegation’s visit to Vietnam in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

On April 30, the exchange program “Time for peace: Writing the next chapter” was held aboard the Peace Boat at the Ha Long International Cruise Port (Quang Ninh), bringing together peace-loving individuals from various countries. The event featured speakers reflecting on lessons from the past while spreading messages of peace, solidarity, and a future free of nuclear weapons.
