(VNF) - The Iranian Embassy in Vietnam gave a party on February 15th celebrating the 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution (February 11th, 1979-2017) at Melia Hanoi Hotel.

Addressing the event, Mr. Saleh Adibi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam, stressed that over the past 38 years, Iran has gained remarkable achievements in socio-economic and scientific-technological development.

Mr. Saleh Adibi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam, addressing the event.

He expressed pleasure at the growing ties between the two countries, stressing that the two countries’ diplomatic ties have been established on the basis of mutual respect and consolidated by the two peoples’ aspirations, for their common benefits and for peace in the region and the world. Objective evidence of the development of bilateral relations is the exchanges of Presidents, Ministers and high ranking officials between the two countries in 2016.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam expressed his delight at remarkable achievements in socio-economic and scientific-technological development Iran has gained over the past 38 years and the fine development of the bilateral relationship since the two countries established their diplomatic ties on August 4th, 1973.

Numerous of visits have been made by two countries’ leaders to each other’s countries. In 2016, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang had visited Iran in March and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had visited Vietnam in October. This latest visit served as a springboard to promote co-operative ties.

President Sang and President Rouhani agreed that two countries should increase to create favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate and invest in energy, telecommunications, science and technology, fishing, tourism, and more. The two leaders also had agreed to raise the bidirectional trade turnover between Iran and Vietnam to USD 2 billion in the next five years.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam hoped that the two countries’ friendship and cooperation will continue be strengthened for mutual benefits and for regional and global peace and development./.
