Japan to help six northern mountainous provinces build resilience to natural disasters
(VNF) – Six northern mountainous provinces will benefit from the project "Disaster resilient rural development", using the loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

From 1996 to 2016, JICA has conducted a number of large-scale of investment projects in infrastructures development with the capital amounting USD 1 billion, along with 630 work packages and many other joint projects in agriculture, health care.
In order to improve the efficiency of those projects, JICA has recently built a new project which is assessed using the performance-based approach, which are Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Son La.
JICA has cooperated with Vietnam since 1992 by posting Japanese experts and receiving participants from Viet Nam for training in Japan. Nowadays, the agency is working to assist Vietnam in realizing its goal of becoming a modern industrialized country by 2020.
JICA has been cooperating with Japanese industrial manufacturers, educational organizations, municipalities, NGOs, and others to provide comprehensive assistance for Vietnam's nation building with a fair society through promoting economic growth, strengthening international competitiveness, supporting vulnerable groups and enhancing governance./.
