Located in Dieng Lung village, Hoa Binh province, Tien Phong kindergarten was built in 2010. Its kitchen was a makeshift hut, which could not function in abnormal weather conditions. During days of storm, extreme heat or cold, the children must go home for lunch then return for afternoon classes. Meanwhile, the toilet in use was unhygienic and detached from the classroom across a rocky, occasionally muddy field. The playground was in the same condition with worn-out equipment, making it hazardous to the kids.

From May 7-10, a group of 19 Seaco staff members from nine countries gathered in Dieng Lung village to participate in this year philanthropic project. The project was deployed in cooperation with Action on Poverty (AOP) – an Australian NGO – with an aim to provide a safe, clean and structurally sound kindergarten for children and teachers in the area.
The outcomes consist of a kitchen inclusive of a dining place, a playground and a toilet. The budget totals approximately USD 50,000.
During their trip, the Seaco team spent two full days in the field to carry out hands-on construction activities such as flooring, landscaping and painting playground equipment. Each local parent also contributed one labor day to the process.
