During the Da Nang city launch ceremony, 45 extremely disadvantaged pupils who had achieved excellent academic results were honoured and given scholarships worth VND2 million each, while 200 others who belong to poor families received gifts worth VND200,000 each.

Over the past years, Da Nang city has effectively carried out programs on protecting and caring for children with a capital of over VND140 billion per year.

The city has issued policies specifically for children that include giving free medical health insurance cards to disabled children aged 6-16 and disadvantaged children who contract dangerous diseases. In addition, the city has given VND400,000 to each child contracting cancer and kidney diseases per month while also paying for all the surgical needs of those children with inborn heart diseases.

At a similar launch ceremony in the central province of Quang Tri, the provincial Department of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs called on agencies and parents to pay greater care for children, and increase activities to realise the national program on child protection.

On this occasion, the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies, the provincial People’s Council worked with World Vision and Cam Lo district to give 43 presents wroth VND300,000 each to extremely disadvantaged children.

In the central province of Quang Nam, the provincial Department of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs has opened a communication strategy in which children have been given education on skills, the prevention of injuries, the prevention of violence, legal assistance for poor children, swimming and the prevention of drowning.

Meanwhile, the trovincial Health Department is providing humanitarian medical check-ups and medicine for children in poor and extremely disadvantaged communes from June 1st-3rd./.
