Malaysia’s government has been ranked eighth in terms of most efficient performance in the 2014-2015 Global Competitive Report released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on its website, according to local New Straits Times.

The result has put Malaysia ahead of Switzerland and Luxembourg, which placed 9th and 10th, respectively.
The Qatari Government was deemed most efficient, followed by Singapore and Finland.
Other top 10 governments are China’s Hong Kong (4th), the United Arab Emirates (5th), New Zealand (6th) and Rwanda (7th).
The WEF evaluates the efficiency and competitiveness landscape of 144 governments across the globe based on criteria such as waste in government spending, regulation burdens and policymaking transparency./.
