The 5,600 square-metre Ben Thanh bus terminal in Ham Nghi District has total investment capital of VND8.5 billion (USD387,363).
The terminal has 12 electronic screens connecting the centre via the internet and four modern restrooms.
Cameras are installed at the terminal and linked to HCM City Management and Operation Centre for Public Transport for management and supervision.
Passengers can express their attitude to services by clicking icons on electronic screens.
The station is expected to attract more people in using public transport, reducing traffic congestion and traffic accidents in HCM City.
There are currently 33 different bus routes passing through the terminal, accounting for around 30% of the city’s total bus traffic, according to the terminal’s management centre.
This terminal replaces the previous bus station that was affected by the construction of Metro line 1 Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien.
