Ninh Thuan to host grape and wine festival in late September

The 2016 Ninh Thuan grape and wine festival will be held from September 29th to October 1st, reported the provincial People’s Committee.

Grape is among the famous specialties of Ninh Thuan

The festival aims to promote Ninh Thuan’s people, landscape and image, and introduce local specialties to domestic and foreign tourists. It will also provide opportunities for grape farmers, businesses and consumers to meet and seek partners.

According to the organizers, the event will highlight a grape and wine fair in combination with promoting Ninh Thuan’s cuisine from September 27th to October 1st, activities of diplomatic corps from September 29th-30th, a conference to promote and connect tours and routes to the locality, and a conference on wine and grapes and tourism on October 1st.

On the sidelines, it will also include street skate racing, walking, dragon dancing and kite surfing.

Mr. Chau Thanh Hai, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the festival is held at the same time with the annual Kate festival of the Cham people, which aims to promote the culture of the Cham following Brahmanism./.
