Overseas Vietnamese Youths Enjoy Special National Landscape Site of Trang An

Young overseas Vietnamese enjoy the experience of rowing and sightseeing in the special national landscape site of Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

Recently, 120 overseas Vietnamese youth and students from 26 countries and territories arrived in Ninh Binh - the third province during the Vietnam Summer Camp 2023 journey with the theme "Vietnamese youth accompanies reaching the future".

The summer camp is scheduled to take place in 10 localities across Vietnam from July 18 to August 2. During the camp, participants will have a chance to visit and learn about the culture, history, and traditions of the country; participate in gratitude and memorial activities; exchange with local youngsters; and take part in voluntary youth programs and competitions, among others.

First held in 2004, the camp has brought thousands of outstanding OVs from 16-24 years old in various fields to visit their motherland.

The annual event is organized by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with relevant units.

In Ninh Binh, young expatriates learned about culture and history and offered incense at King Dinh and King Le temple in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, in Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district - the first imperial capital of our country, associated with the heroic cause of building and defending the country of the Dinh, Early Le and the first half of Ly dynasties.

Campers can also see the majestic and ancient constructions of the city walls, gates, temples, shrines, temples, and sophisticated wood carving art.

Currently, Hoa Lu ancient capital has been recognized by UNESCO as one of the four core areas of the Trang An World Heritage complex, and is ranked by the government as an architectural complex and a particularly important national historical relic.

In the afternoon, 120 overseas Vietnamese youth and students had the opportunity to experience boating and sightseeing at Trang An eco-tourism area.

Through their experience in Ninh Binh province, Luu Nguyen Anh, an expatriate from the US, shared that after learning about Vietnamese history, she feels very proud that his father kept the country for the next generation. "When I return to the US, I will invite my friends in the US to Trang An to play because the mountains and rivers are very beautiful."

Tran Ngoc Sang, an overseas Vietnamese from Romania, expressed his interest in visiting Trang An, saying "I've never been able to participate in such an activity. Rowing with friends was so much fun."

Previously, as part of the program's activities, young overseas Vietnamese had the opportunity to exchange art and enjoy Xam singing at the stage of Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh City.
