Party Building Process Clearly, Substantively Reflected

On the evening of February 3, 2023, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Central Organization Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam presided over and coordinated with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists Association to hold an awarding ceremony for the 7th National Press Prize on Party building (named Golden Hammer and Sickle) - 2022.

According to the Contest's Organizing Committee, the prize standing agency (Party Building Journal) has received a total of 2,031 works, of which 697 are in print and 454 electronic press products, 529 television programs, 293 radio articles, and 58 press photo articles. Many works have timely reflected issues attracting society's attention. Those include the organization of the implementation of the 13th Party Congress Resolution and that of the 4th, 5th, and 6th plenum of the Central Committee of the Party Meeting (3rd course), the construction and rectification of the Party and political system, the strict handling of cadres and party members who have degraded in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, the protection of the ideological foundation of the Party, fighting against the distorting claims of hostile forces; corruption and negativity; building a culture of resignation; continue to renovate cadre work and strengthen the construction and consolidation of grassroots party organizations, improve the quality of party members; the democracy promotion in the Party and society; the consolidation of the flesh-and-blood relationship between the Party and the People; preserving and promoting good cultural values in the spirit of the National Cultural Conference in November 2021.

Some topics such as studying, following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, setting an example of good people doing good deeds, and affirming human rights issues in Vietnam are attractive and well-reviewed by readers.

Many articles are carefully invested in choosing topics, collecting materials, doing practical research, sharp presenting and analyzing, and containing new features in the topic and arguments.

Most of the entries have closely followed hot topics in Party construction and rectification. In particular, the strict handling of Party members with moral degradation, and corrupt and negative lifestyles continues to receive special attention. Major General, journalist Doan Xuan Bo, a representative of the People's Army Newspaper group of authors who won the A prize said: "The Party's anti-corruption process has always been trusted and supported by all classes of people. However, there is also a view that the fault was in the mechanism. If this mechanism does not change, whoever sits in that position will also appear in court, even with more serious mistakes. Through the series "A series of "officials" in court: Mechanism error or personal quality?", the authors have confirmed that this view is not correct."

"Our mechanism, policy, and law still have many obstacles. However, the mechanism is operated by people. When an official is on trial, his quality is the decisive factor. Officers with a pure mind, vision, and morality will overcome material temptations," said journalist Doan Xuan Bo.

Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said: The country's rich, lively practice and important results in Party building and rectification over the past time have become valuable materials and a source of great inspiration for journalists to create quality works to make the 7th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award a bountiful season with thousands of entries that are diverse topics, rich in genres, covering all aspects, all provinces and cities, well received and appreciated by readers.

"The attractiveness and pervasive effects of the journalistic works on Party building further confirm the great responsibility and support of the Party committees, governments at all levels, and the political system, especially the people's enthusiastic support for the revolutionary press in Vietnam," said the National Assembly Chairman.

According to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, to successfully implement the 13th Party Congress Resolution, along with continuing to implement synchronously and effectively the Party and State's guidelines and policies on the development socio-economic, ensuring national defense and security, raising the position of foreign affairs, it is necessary to continue promoting the construction and rectification of the Party and the political system with a more positive, serious, quality and effective spirit.

President Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully proposed to all classes of people and all comrades, whether living in the country or abroad, to actively participate in building and correcting the Party and the political system by taking concrete and practical actions with appropriate and effective forms.
