Party chief nominated for Presidential post
All members of the 12th Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee have agreed to introduce General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as a candidate for the post of President, to be elected in the 14th National Assembly’s sixth session.

The agreement was made on the second working day of the Party Central Committee’s eighth session on October 3.
In the morning, the Party Central Committee discussed reports on socio-economic situation and State budget implementation in 2018 along with plans for 2019.
It focused discussion on personnel work in the afternoon session.
The Party Central Committee elected two additional members of its Inspection Commission, namely Vo Thai Nguyen and Tran Duc Thang./.
