Plan International Vietnam to continue supporting disadvantaged children and youths in Hue
(VNF) - On December 14th, in Hue city, Plan International Vietnam with partners Centre for Community Development and Social Work (CODES), Centre for Environment and Community Asset Development (CEDAD) and REACH held the launching of Phase II of “For better future of disadvantaged children and youths in Thua Thien Hue” project.

During Phase I from 2014 – 2017, the project supported 300 street children, with 216 children resumed education at school, 40 youth had access to vocational training and means to earn their own living, and 90 families had small loans to start business and improve their economic situation. Moreover, since establishment the project has helped reduce 1/3 number of street and working children in Thua Thien Hue.
Continuing this success, Phase II of the project will focus on supporting 226 street children and 350 disadvantaged youth, especially women age 18-30 residing within poor communes of the city.
“We will ensure that the project is implemented effectively. Through this, children will have a chance to live in a safer environment and in harmony with society,” said Dinh Khac Dinh, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee./.
