PM receives newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam has actively launched agreements reached by the Vietnamese and U.S. leaders, including balancing the bilateral trade turnover.

The PM made that statement at his reception for newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink on December 26 in Hanoi.
The Government leader hailed contributions of Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink to the two nations’ relationship when the Ambassador was the Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council.
PM Phuc suggested the two sides enhance trade exchanges to bring benefits to their people, expecting the Ambassador to promote high-ranking delegation exchanges and ask the U.S. Government to address issues proposed by the Vietnamese side.
The Vietnamese Government will make efforts in cooperation with the U.S. to strengthen their Comprehensive Partnership, he confirmed.
The U.S. regards Vietnam as one of most crucial partners not only in the region but in the world, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink said, extending his congratulations to Vietnam on the success of the Vietnam APEC 2017 year and thanks from President Donald Trump for Vietnam’s warm welcome during his official visit in last November.
Highlighting the economic and trade relations as key pillars in Vietnam-U.S. relationship, the Ambassador hoped that Vietnam will tackle remaining issues and take advantages of opportunities in this field.
The U.S. will continue supporting Vietnam in such areas as improving the maritime capacity, clearing unexploded bombs and mines, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges./.
